Captain Matthew A. Colvin
Captain Matthew A. Colvin is the Chief Aircraft Battle Damage Repair (ABDR) Engineering Instructor for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). In this position, he serves as Headquarters AFMC subject matter expert on ABDR engineering and advises Air Logistics Centers’ Directors of Engineering on needs of the ABDR program to meet warfighter requirements. In addition, Captain Colvin develops coursework and instructs engineers across the Department of Defense and select coalition partners in the arts of rapid aircraft structural repair.
Captain Colvin graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Engineering Mechanics and was commissioned in 2005. In his first assignment he served as a structural analysis engineer at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, focusing on adhesively bonded repairs to metallic structure, and fatigue life enhancing repair practices.
Prior to assuming his current position, Captain Colvin was Chief Depot Liaison Engineer for the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udied AB.
